Haiti Missions Trip 2018


Haiti Missions Trip:
CityPoint will be organizing our annual missions trip to Haiti from July 26th – July 31st. Members and all those interested in this trip can contact Nikita Jones for more information. Nikita can provide an overview of the missions trip and some background information on the organization.

Event: Haiti Missions Trip w/ Chances for Children
Travel Dates: July 26th – July 31st
Travel Note: Please plan for two days of travel to and from Haiti. This will expand the travel dates from July 25th – August 1st.


Information Session:
An information session with Dr. Joy Elion will be held on February 11th after our Sunday worship service.

Organizational Information:
Chances for Children
provides hope to Haiti‘s children by developing leaders and empowering church communities. Chances for Children responsibilities include medical care, orphan care, ministerial training, and a feeding program for children. These four programs are all carried out through partnerships between local churches in Haiti and Chances for Children. Of every dollar donated to Chances for Children, 92% goes directly to Haiti.

Ways To Donate:
We have provided a number of convenient methods to donate to our Haiti Missions campaign.

Monetary Donations – EasyTithe/Text-To-Give:
You can always donate funds to this campaign using our standard CityPoint donation options, EasyTithe or Text-to-Give.
Please specify funding category ‘Haiti‘ for general donations to the campaign.
Please specify funding category ‘Haiti Team‘ for donations to assist those traveling to Haiti for the missions trip.

Recommended vaccines, as well as other travelers’ information from the CDC, is provided below.

Payment Information:
The total payment for the missions trip is $690. This fee includes transportation to and from the airport and around Haiti, housing while in Haiti, breakfast all days, dinner most days. The fee does not include the following expenses.

– Airfare
– Hotel cost prior to arrival in Haiti (if necessary)
– Lunch, tips, customs fee ($10)
– Vaccines/medications (if necessary)

Payments including the deposit can be made directly to Chances For Children using the link below. Under “Financial Support” section, please specify “City Point Trip Deposit July 2018” in the “In honor of” box. A deposit is needed by a minimum of 8 people to secure the trip dates. If enough deposits aren’t received, Chances for Children will not guarantee the trip dates.

A deposit of $150 is due by February 15 to reserve a position on the missions trip.


Flight Information:
Each missions trip participant will be responsible for his/her flight travel. The destination city will be Port Au Prince (PAP). We will need to coordinate to ensure that all missions trip participants arrive in Port Au Prince at the same time. Further details will follow related to this effort.
