Announcements – August 24th

We’d like to invite you to our next Pastoral Care Talkback happening next Sunday, August 24th, right after service. This session’s topic is dealing with stress—something many of us face in different ways. Whether it’s work, family pressures, personal struggles, or just the busyness of life, this will be a time to pause, reflect, and find support in both faith and community. Everyone is welcome, so sign up today! Come and be encouraged, and let’s seek God’s peace together.

On Sunday, September 28th, we’re conducting our fourth Baptism for the year. This is an opportunity for anyone ready to publicly declare their faith in Christ and take Faith Plunge. If you are interested in being baptized or just want to learn more, click here. We invite you to take this powerful step in your journey with Christ.

In 2025 digitalKENTE design studio is partnering with CityPoint Community Church to host a fashion showcase to highlight the creativity in apparel and accessory design living within Bronzeville. With this fashion event, during Chicago Fashion Week and Open House Chicago, we are honoring the legacy of this historic neighborhood and investing in its future. This event seeks to reawaken Bronzeville’s rich history of creativity and style while spotlighting emerging talent, celebrating Black artistry, and inspiring a new generation to carry the torch. We’re bringing the community together for an evening of celebration and excellence in craft while celebrating the historic contributions of the Black community in this neighborhood. We need an event committee and street team to work out logistics, and marketing! If you are interested in helping to plan this historical event,

We’re circling back to our
Brown Bag Food Pantry initiative. We’re still collecting
donations to help stock our shelves—but we want to make sure we’re offering quality to those in need. As you bring your items in, please make sure they are new, unopened, and not expired. We had to toss a few donations in April because they weren’t usable, and we want to ensure that what we give is something we’d gladly receive ourselves. If you’d prefer to support financially, you can do that too! Just text the keyword F
ood Pantry followed by the dollar amount to 312-313-1800. Let’s continue to be a blessing to our community.
