Announcements – June 15th

Timbra Dye   -

Are you looking to grow your relationship with Jesus, but not sure where to begin? Come check out our new 3-week community group called Jump Start. We’ll be diving into the book Stat Here, that walks through the Gospel, the Holy Spirit, and the local church—three essentials for building a strong spiritual foundation. The first session kicked off Tuesday, June 10th, but it’s not too late to sign up. If you’re ready to take that next step in your faith journey, sign up today!. Books will be provided for all participants upon signing up. See Pastor Shayla for your book today.

Calling all men! You’re invited to join us for our bi-weekly Men’s Bible Discussion. We meet every 1st and 3rd Wednesday of the month, and each time we gather, we dive into powerful and relevant discussions on topics that matter to our walk as Christian men. It’s a great opportunity to grow together in faith, encouragement, and brotherhood. Sign up today, mark your calendar, bring another brother or two with you, and we’ll see you in our next session, Wednesday, June 18th.

On June 22nd, our Pastoral Care team is hosting The Talkback — a safe, open space where we gather to discuss real-life issues. This session’s topic is, What About Your Friends: The Value of Godly Friendships.  In a world where relationships are often surface-level or short-lived, godly friendships stand out as powerful, life-giving connections rooted in faith and trust. If you are looking for space to evaluate your friendships or even learn how to be a better friend, we invite you to join us right after service in the CP Lounge, right behind the sanctuary. Click here for more info.

It’s Men’s Month and we are calling all men! Join us Friday, June 27th for Men’s Night—an experience curated to strengthen, challenge, and equip you for the battles of life. Just like football, success doesn’t happen by accident. It takes intentional training, preparation, and brotherhood. This night will feature powerful discussions, activities, and practical tools to help you sharpen your faith, deepen your relationships, and get in spiritual shape. Whether you’re a rookie or a seasoned vet in the game of life, this is your training ground. So grab a brother and sign up today! Men’s Night is more than just a gathering—it’s a movement of men rising to lead, love, and live like Christ.

You asked and we answered. The Health and Wellness Ministry is continuing with another Fitness and Fellowship event, Saturday, June 28th. You’ll have the opportunity to choose from a variety of activities — walking, running or virtual yoga. This is a perfect way to help us grow stronger in body and spirit, together! If you’re interested in joining, click here to sign up. Let’s prioritize our well-being as a church family!

On Sunday, June 29th, we will be celebrating a special milestone — the Class of 2025! Join us in honoring our amazing CP graduates as they step into this exciting new chapter. And we don’t want to stop there — if you or someone you know is graduating this year – pre-k, middle school, high school, college, grad school – we want to celebrate YOU too! Fill out this form and let us know you are part of the Class of 2025. We want to honor all our graduates for their hard work, dedication, and the journey ahead. We’re so proud of each of you!

In 2025 digitalKENTE design studio is partnering with CityPoint Community Church to host a fashion showcase to highlight the creativity in apparel and accessory design living within Bronzeville. With this fashion event, during Chicago Fashion Week and Open House Chicago, we are honoring the legacy of this historic neighborhood and investing in its future. This event seeks to reawaken Bronzeville’s rich history of creativity and style while spotlighting emerging talent, celebrating Black artistry, and inspiring a new generation to carry the torch. We’re bringing the community together for an evening of celebration and excellence in craft while celebrating the historic contributions of the Black community in this neighborhood. We need an event committee and street team to work out logistics, and marketing! If you are interested in helping to plan this historical event, Sign up here!
We’re circling back to our Brown Bag Food Pantry initiative. We’re still collecting donations to help stock our shelves—but we want to make sure we’re offering quality to those in need. As you bring your items in, please make sure they are new, unopened, and not expired. We had to toss a few donations in April because they weren’t usable, and we want to ensure that what we give is something we’d gladly receive ourselves. If you’d prefer to support financially, you can do that too! Just text the keyword Food Pantry followed by the dollar amount to 312-313-1800. Let’s continue to be a blessing to our community.
